Stephanie Meyer has released a statement on her website concerning her book "The Host" beiing picked up for the big screen. Stephanie writes:

Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

I'm so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They've all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we're in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you've never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It's such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I'm having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn't take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I'm looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

XO
Steph

So excited! I really loved this book and hopefully we'll get the sequels soon

Leaked New Moon Trailer

Enjoy! I think it looks great but I'll have to wait and see the movie. I admit I didn't like the first one - I thought it was absolutely awful except a couple of scenes. So New Moon can't actually be worse..I hope

DIMITRI'S HEART HAS GONE DARK

Now Rose must journey to the ends of the earth to find--and kill--her one true love...

Or has the time come to join him?

BOUND BY LOVE, BUT SWORN TO KILL...

The rest of the world had considered Dimitri dead. And to a certain extent, he was. But I hadn't been able to forget a conversation he and I had once had. We'd both agreed that we'd rather be dead—truly dead—than walk the world as Strigoi. It was time to honor our words.

Review: Major spoiler alert! Don't read if u haven't read the book yet!

The review is pretty much topic based rather than the writing etc., so it might not be for everyone to read..

This sequel wouldn't give me any rest. The most part I was looking forward to was Dimitri's behavior, I didn't quite know what to expect from him being Strigoi (I never questioned the fact he might not have turned into one). And of course his and Rose' reunion. The first part of the book was kinda slow (and I understand Rose' jorney had to be told) so thats basically why I would give 4 stars for this book instead of 5. In this first half I just missed all charcters I fell in love with even though Rose kept kinda connecting to Adrian and Lissa. Though I have to say it was funny to read all the russian traditions and stuff..I was curious if Richelle would actually get it all right (I'm very familiar with russian traditions, etc.) So lets say when Rose almost choked herself to death after drinking Vodka I was laughing so hard and said "thats SO true" (even though I personally can handle :P) But after that the story got me hooked. I enjoyed R/D moments but it really felt kinda weird them not beeing really themselfes. But other than that still my shipper heart was jumping :D Rose's escape broke my heart, especially the bridge scene! And I have to say all the things in the end were predictable for me! So it wasn't that big of a cliffhanger for me. I knew the moment Rose asked the one particulat question on the bridge and kept asking herself..I knew it wasn't over. And as soon as Oksana and Mark mentionet Robert I SO knew what to expect in the following book(s). It sounds like a lot to come for Rose and Lissa in the future. I'm already looking forward to their jorney, even the prison break (Viktor should have brought Michael Scofield with him) All in all this was a pretty dark life period for Rose and I can't wait to see what happens next!

This brush with danger was all my Pride needed to summon me back for my own protection. Yeah, right. But I'm no meek kitty. I'll take on whatever and whoever I have to in order to find my friends. Watch out, Strays cause I got claws, and I'm not afraid to use them.

Review: Ok this series blew me away! I don't even know where to start. Rachel is a brilliant author, she makes you understand her characters even if they make stupid mistakes, you still kinda get why they did it. Her writing is so very human and the characters are so real and unique.
When I first picked up the book I was not convinced whether I should start this story or not but I gave it a try and couldn't stop reading! Even though this story includes family matters (which I find pretty much annoying in other books at some point) and political conflicts and aspects (which turn out boring in a lot of books). But those things even support the events in this books so much more.
Faythe's path leads her through a lot of trouble, avdentures, death, love, worry, growing-up, loyalty, betrayal, friendship and a lot of mistakes from which she has to learn and to grow.
The 4th book was the best one so far. There is so much going on and you can almost feel as exhaused, hopeless then again hopefull as Faythe while you read it. I found myself OMG-ing the whole time! The relationships are described so very real with its good and bad moments. There are a couple huge twists and they are both intense and very emotional. Rachel Vincent even got me to that point where I wanted my fave character to die because of what she/he has still to deal with in the next book/s and it would kill her/him. I can't bear to see/read when she/he reaches that point.
I can't wait til March for the next book!

Genre: Young Adult, Thriller
Characters: Eric/18, Lori/15, Jake Proctor
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
Summary: 18-year-old Eric has just been released from juvenile detention for murdering his mother and stepfather. Now he's looking for some tenderness; tenderness he finds in caressing and killing beautiful girls. Fifteen-year-old Lori has run away from home again. Emotionally naive but sexually precocious, she is also looking for tenderness; tenderness she finds in Eric. Will Lori and Eric be each other's salvation or destruction?

The book has its charm. I enjoyed reading it, it only took me a day. While Eric is a serial killer - especially on young girls - the author managed to make him really "human" and I found myself rooting for him. Lori is a runaway, about to discover the world, who has a fixation on Eric. What I found pretty great is that they weren't totally strangers and met a couple of years ago. The incident is pretty intense and dangerous. I enjoyed their jorney and relationship. Dangerous and innocent at the same time. Also the cop, keeping an eye on Eric for years, makes smart moves to place a trap for Eric and keep him behind bars.

Tenderness will be on screen in 2009, starring Russel Crow as the Lieutenant.
Realease date TBA
Really excited to see the movie. Check out the trailer below

I can't wait to read those 2 books. Both are based on the beauty and the beast plot. Unfortunatly we have to wait MONTHS for Crazy Beautiful. This is so unfair!
Here are the summeries:

Crazy Beautiful by Lauren Baratz-Logsted is a contemporary re-visioning of Beauty & the Beast, told in he-said/she-said fashion, about a boy with hooks for hands and a gorgeous girl who meet on their first day at a new school.

Beasty by Alex Flinn
I am a beast. A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

In fact Beasty will be on big sceen! The "Beast" is rumored to be played by Alex Pettyfer! Yes, Alex Pettyfer! *points.to.the.guy.on.the.layout.above* the incarnation of Jace Wayland of the Mortal Instruments!
Ok, the bad news is...the "Beauty" will be definatly played by Vanessa Hudgens! Why, oh why!??? This movie is destined to be scewed up by her.
Well I guess we have to wait and see.

Movie Review: S.Darko

Summary:Seven years after the tragic death of her brother Donnie, Samantha Darko is still mourning him and the loss of the loving family that fell apart after he died. Her home life in shambles, 18-year-old Sam impulsively decides to join her rebellious best friend Corey on a cross-country drive from Virginia to California in the hope of becoming a professional dancer.

I was waiting for this movie to out and finally managed to watch it! Where do I start...it was weird...and creepy (like Donnie Darkro) I have to admit I wasn't expecting the movie to be great cuz I think the sequel can't be as good as the first one. I thought they tried way too hard to make it weird and mysterious as Donnie Darko but it was a good movie. So simple is that. I liked it. Aaaand Ed Westwick was so hot! I loved him! I thought he wouldn't be that kind of actor who can act totally different in his roles (I'm just so used to his character in Gossip Girl) but he wasn't "Chuck", still his role was the one of a badass but he was different. James Lafferty did ok I guess, he was pretty creepy. After 10 Minutes I started wondering how I know Samatha's best friend, the actress was familiar, the look, the rusty voice and then I got it! She played the chick in Step Up 2 (which sucked so bad) and then the woman - think she was the wife of this Jesus guy - looked familiar too, I couldn't place her first. Good thing I'm a smart girl :D I figured it's "Jessie" from Saved By The Bell! Also loved Jackson, he played this geek who was into Sam. Really like this actor! So go check out the movie, it's a nice watch.

Summary:In the class of the high school English teacher she has been haunting, Helen feels them: for the first time in 130 years, human eyes are looking at her. They belong to a boy, a boy who has not seemed remarkable until now. And Helen, terrified but intrigued, is drawn to him. The fact that he is in a body and she is not presents this unlikely couple with their first challenge. But as the lovers struggle to find a way to be together, they begin to discover the secrets of their former lives and of the young people they come to possess.

First of all I think to really enjoy a piece the speed you’re going through a book is a main factor. I was reading this book for a couple of weeks additionally to others. It’s not a long read, you could actually rush through it in a day. Well anyway I’m not that into ghost stories but I gave this one a try and it turned out a really nice read. It wasn’t big and got me hooked but it wasn’t like I wanted to drop it either. It is a sweet story about 2 dead people who kinda want to live again or at least the closest thing to life. James and Helen have a connection from the very start and feel very close, like they’re the last species on the planet.

Summary: Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers 13 cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This one was definatly an interesting read. Very well written, I felt almost as bad as Clay when he heard Hannah's tapes. Her story is unbelievably tragic. In the end when she could't bring anyone to believe she wasn't the person all rumors in school were about, she simply wanted the 13 people to understand how they ruined her life by just saying something or doing (or not doing). With every tape she uncovers some well hidden secrets. The book reminded me a lot of the TV show "Veronica Mars", which I loved btw. I thought the 12th tape was really shocking! I couldn't believe she let something happen which could't take any person more down than anything else..and thats what she wanted to feel, broken beyong repair I guess.
A lot of people don't realize how - by the smallest thing they say or do - they can affect a life of another, this is a good example.

April reads - A look back

Ok, since I haven't posted a review for every book I've read in April I just put them all on the list:

* Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman
* Knife Edge by Malorie Blackman
* Checkmate by Malorie Blackman
* Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler
* Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
* Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward
* Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward
* Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward
* Lover Unbouned by J.R. Ward
* Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward
* This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

Summary: "I had no illusions about love... It came, it went, it left casualties or it didn't. People weren't meant to be together forever, regardless of what the songs say." Remy doesn't believe in love. And why should she? Her romance novelist mother is working on her fifth marriage, and her father, a '70s hippie singer, left her with only a one-hit wonder song to remember him by. Every time Remy hears "This Lullaby," it feels like "a bruise that never quite healed right." "Wherever you may go / I will let you down / But this lullaby plays on..." Never without a boyfriend, Remy is a compulsive dater, but before a guy can go all "Ken" on her (as in "ultra boyfriend behavior") she cuts him off, without ever getting close or getting hurt. That's why she's stunned when klutzy, quirky, alterna-band boy Dexter inserts himself into her life and refuses to leave. Remy's been accepted to Stanford, and she plans on having her usual summer fling before tying up the loose ends of her pre-college life and heading for the coast. Except Dexter's not following Remy's tried-and-true rules of break-up protocol. And for the first time, Remy's questioning whether or not she wants him to.

♥ ♥ ♥
This Lullaby gets from me 3 stars. For the matter of fact when I started this book I already wanted to start another one so I kinda rushed through it and was impatient to enjoy it that well. In the beginning I found Remy’s character a bit annoying cuz she was so strict and picky about everything (and guess what - it’s soo me sometimes. Jeez, am I that annoying to other peepz then sometimes? Sorry about that) I loved Dexters character, he was this positive-cool-ready for commitment-kind of guy who doesn’t let the girl push him away (yeah we all want that guy but I’ve only read about them in books) A believer! And of corse Remy is the opposite, that’s what makes the story a good one.

There were really great scenes with both of them together but then abruptly when it came to family/friends story I lost interest. So for me it was an up-and-down read. I understand the story of Remys family relation had to be told and it was all a part of the story and added to the message of this book. But I couldn’t help myself but finding some parts less catchy. I liked the end BUT again it’s a pity we didn’t get a good scene with a great dialog, you can tell approx. what Remy and Dex have been talking about - expecially the future - but I would have loved to read it.

Lori – my friend who loves to read just as I do (thanks to me haha) and is a writer / and is afraid of orcas even though she never actually saw one! just for the record – has recommended me the Sarah Dessen books. Don’t worry I won’t give up on those, I still have like 5 more to go :D

Summary: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood...

♥ ♥ ♥ (1/2)
Where do I start…maybe with poof! Nah I kid, I kid. But those sentences with “poof my ass out of here” made me laugh. To be honest I was unsure whether to like the books or not. I heard a lot about those and I know this series is pretty popular so that’s what made me read it. I was curious what this buzz was all about. Well in the beginning – after I’ve read 2-3 books – I thought the plot was a bit simple and I don’t want to say “cheep” cuz I’ve grown into it but I did not understand why everybody was so hooked about the series. It has some fighting (of course the vampires/the Brotherhood have enemies) at some point but the main plot is about the love story with it’s difficulties, like getting close (cuz everyone of the Brotherhood is pretty much damaged or has been tortured in most horrible ways, as well some of them have been sexually abused) and the woman they fall in love with has to save them and give them peace. There where of course conversations and backgrounds you had to read about the lessers (the enemies) and I found myself skipping those parts cuz I was sooo not interested and in the end of the book I found out that I didn’t miss anything important. Ok the positive part is that I’ve really grown to like the “brothers”. Everyone has something special but I think their relationship is great and I would have loved just to hang out with them, they’re funny as hell. I trust everyone who read those books has their own favourite and for me it was Vishous followed by Zadist. At this point I have to add: the names! I mean c'mon…Zadist, Rhage, Wrath, Rhevenge etc.??!! But ok, I got used to it. At some point I though the end was always kind of obvious, but mostly I was happy with it so it’s all good.

I believe there is one more book out there that I haven’t read, numero siete. I try to get my hands on it anytime soon.

Btw I think it’s funny how every vampire (in every book!) denies the clichés about them! “No, garlic does no harm to us and no, we don’t sleep in coffins and no, we don’t particularly drink human blood” But at least almost everybody has its difficulties with the sunlight :D

Summary: A love beyond life...a danger beyond doubt.

When her boyfriend, Tristan, died, Ivy thought she'd lost everything, even her faith in angels. But now she's discovered that he's her guardian angel -- his presence so strong that she can feel the touch of his hand, the beat of his heart. Ivy needs Tristan now more than ever because he knows she's in terrible danger. Only Ivy's guardian angel can save her now that his killer is after her.

But if Tristan rescues Ivy, his mission on earth will be finished, and he must leave her behind forever. Will saving Ivy mean losing her just when he's finally reached her again?

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
That was a loooong read. Since it is a combined triology I have to go by every book.

I really liked the first one. Manly it was about Ivy and Tristan. The first time they saw each other, everything they did together, how they got together. You could see why and how they fell for each other. The characters were well described, the family relations etc.

The second and third books are more mysterious. Gregory, Ivy’s new stepbrother, is one of the main characters. You had a hard time figuring out whether he had good or bad intentions. The same goes for Will. Something was wrong about them, so you needed to keep reading til you figured out what their deal was. Meanwhile Tristan died and became an angel, Ivy’s guardian angel. It totally reminded me of the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, maybe it was the Authors inspiration, I don’t know. By now we got to know that Ivy is in danger but its hard to assume why and who wants to harm her. We get introduced to a new character Lacey, she is an angel and helps Tristan to use his powers to save Ivy. I thought it could have been written shorter. The whole PI related things could have been figured out sooner. Also Ivy romantically involved with 3 (!!) characters is a bid odd and you never knew exactly which one she really wanted and who really wanted her! The scary part was, when the story started it was very ..hm careful? – by the end it turns out that murder is involved and some serious accusations – and lets be real they are 16! Still kids! It felt kinda out of space for me. Anyway I wasn’t happy with the ending especially and surprisingly I was mostly concerned about how it ended for Lacey…and Tristan at some point.. In the beginning I loved Tristan, then I grew for Gregory’s character, well Will..he was a sweet boy and there was something interesting and mysterious about his character (as I’m writing this right now I realized we didn’t get revealed Will’s past even though it was mentioned a couple of times)

It was a good read though, go get it!

Amazon Review. Sephy and Callum have been best friends since childhood, and now they are older and they realise they want more from each other. But the harsh realities of lives lived in a segregated society are beginning to take their toll: Callum is a nought--a second-class citizen in a world dominated by the Crosses--and Sephy is a Cross, and the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country. The barriers they would have to cross to be together at first seem little more than minor obstacles to the two idealistic teenagers, but soon those barriers threaten not only their friendship but their lives.

Noughts and Crosses is written with the passion of an author who has a personal message about the perception of the past, present and future, and Blackman has used the clever device of turning preconceived ideas of racial prejudice upside down to make sure that her point is well and truly made. Deeply disturbing and totally absorbing this novel is intriguing from the outset, with a shocking climax that packs an unforgettable punch.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This one did blow me away! Just WOW...I have to calm myself first and gather together my thoughts. I think even after I read the half of the book...maybe even before that I realized this one will be one of my all time favourits.

All the books I've read in the past months seem to me like light-happy-literature compared to this one. This was a punch in the face.

I don't really know how to describe it! True? Real? Tradic? Heartbreaking?!! Unfair? Brave! Brilliant? Unforgettable!!! Maybe the fact that it's part of our history at some point?

This topic will never die. Unfortunatly. Jocks vs. nerds, rich vs. poor, black vs. white, gang vs.gang, etc.
This story is about Noughts vs. Crosses until the bitter end. Racism and disrimination is dominating this world.

Caught in the middle: Sophy and Callum. As children best friends, their mothers were friends once until something happened... Still Sophy and Callum were seeing each other but nobody had to know. And then Callum, one of 4 Noughts, was allowed to go to school - a Crosses school - with Sophy. Thats where their and their familys dark path starts...

Sophy and Callum broke my heart and I almost didn't made it through the end...

I can highly recommend it to everyone. It's one of those books with a great message.

I can't wait until I get the next 2 sequels in a few days!!!

Amazon review: At last, Miranda is the life of the party: all she had to do was die. Elevated and adopted by none other than the reigning King of the Mantle of Dracul, Miranda goes from high-school theater wannabe to glamorous royal fiend overnight. Meanwhile, her reckless and adoring guardian angel, Zachary, demoted to human guise as the princess’s personal assistant, has his work cut out for him trying to save his girl’s soul and plan the Master’s fast-approaching Death Day gala. In alternating points of view, Miranda and Zachary navigate a cut-throat eternal aristocracy as they play out a dangerous and darkly hilarious love story for the ages.

I liked the plot of this book a lot and the story had so much potential. Unfortunatly I felt a lack of emoitions throughout reading it. I went through the book pretty fast, understanding the characters reasons and actions. Despite this there were only a few moments where I felt for Miranda - the new vampire princess and her guardian angel/fallen angel Zachary. I believe the end was very heartbreaking but again I barely felt sad and didn't get hooked.

Anyway there where some good laughs, especially conversations between Zachary and the angel Joshua, something like this:

Zachary: Don't get me wrong. I appreciate whatever you're trying to do, but -
Joshua: What is that?! *pointing at Zachary's chest*
Zachary: It's a tattoo - of a cherub
Joshua: That is not one of the cherubim! That is a fat, naked white baby with wings! How could you do that? Body. Temple. Didn't you read The Written?

The first book I've read by Elizabeth Scott was Bloom. I didn't post a review even though I really liked the book. I guess I'm just a lazy person sometimes.

Perfect you was just as good as Bloom. You can't help but to like the main characters Kate, Will and Anna (and maybe Todd). The story is life-related, humorous (I just gotta think of all the fake smiles Kates Dad put on :D), sad, difficult, sweet, heartbreaking, wise.

Kate goes through one of those times when you believe there isn't one thing in this world which is good in your life. Her Dad is embarassing, the family is running out of money, her brother is annoying as hell, her scary Grandma is coming for a visit, her best friend pretends not to know her anymore and the guy she likes seems only to use her.

I believe most people would dislike Anna after this book but I think Anna has her own story and can't be judged over easily.

I loved Wills character. He is just a guy with problems on his own like everybody else. Kate was afraid to believe he realy liked her but in the end she risked letting herself enjoy his company and was proven that she doesn't have to expect the worst.

Looking forward to read more of Elizabeth Scott's books, she brings such a fresh spirit!

Yeahh I kinda got tired of the old one..it's not like it's been here forver but I felt it was long enough :D

Well it's Jace & Clary again. I'm waiting for my obsession to be over.

Yay books, books, books. I figured I was running out of books, so what do you do in this case...

Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith

At last, Miranda is the life of the party: all she had to do was die. Dark Lover (book 1) by J.R. Ward
In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

City of Masks (book 1) by Mary Hoffman

Set in Talia, a parallel world very similar to 16th-century Italy, the narrative follows Lucien, who in our world is very ill. Given a marbled notebook to use as a diary, the notebook is the unexpected means that transports Lucien to this dangerous new world; a world that thrills to the delight of political intrigue and where a life can be snuffed out with a flash of a merlino blade. The city of Bellezza (Venice in our world) is astonishingly evoked, with a filmic eye to detail, from the sensuousness of silks and velvets, to the thrill and danger of assassination attempts both and foiled and successful. The world of Talia is unforgettably and convincingly real.

Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott

Kate figures that the only way things will ever stop hurting so much is if she keeps to herself and stops caring about anyone or anything. What she doesn't realize is that while life may not always be perfect, good things can happen -- but only if she lets them....
